Spring sailing in North Dalmatia – Day 6. Back to Biograd

Our last day was quite short on sailing as we had to return the boat to Biograd by 15:00 and quite long otherwise as we had to drive back to Hungary afterwards. We were sailing on familiar waters, first passing the Prisnjak light house.

Before check out we had to fill up the tank with diesel in the Biograd marine petrol station. We had to do some circles around, because there was a boat in and took ages until it finished refueling. In the meantime of course the ferry arrived so we were not bored 🙂 Finally we tied up to the fuel pontoon and refilled the tank. You have to show the receipt at check out so do not throw it away. When we finished we were heading back to Marina Kornati West. The jugo was still blowing more than ideal for mooring but we had no more time.

We motored into the marina and it was fully abandoned. I mean there were many boats but not a single person. We could manage the mooring without help but in Croatia usually you have to wait for the marina personnel to show your place. Especially in Biograd where many charter companies are operated so you can not just use the first suitable berth. Finally a young guy arrived to assist, after fighting with the heavy wind a bit we moored but then it turned out he showed us the wrong place. Finally the check-out skipper arrived and took the boat to the right berth. The check-out was simple, everything was OK. We mentioned the issue we had during our voyage, that the GPS was a bit off and maybe related to that the autopilot could not steadily keep us on course. We also mentioned that we had to replace the connector on the shore cable. Finally we removed all luggage from the boat, packed into the car and headed back Hungary.

All in all it was a very diversified week with changing weather, beautiful places, lots of fun in a good company. As soon as we were driving home we already wanted to go back and continue sailing 🙂
